Hippodrome of Constantinople was the social center and sporting area of the city during the Byzantine reign. Hippodrome was used for horse and chariot racing. It had 100000 capacity of spectators. It was built in 324 AD by Constantine. The Walled Obelisk, the Serpent Column, the Obelisk of Thutmosis III and Fountain of Wilhelm II are displayed around the area.
Blue Mosque (The Sultan Ahmet Mosque) is so called because of the blue and turquoise tiles of the interior walls. It was built by the order of Sultan Ahmet, the sultan of the Ottomans between 1609 and 1616 years. It still serves as a mosque and became one of the most popular tourist attraction in Istanbul.
Topkapi Palace is a large palace that was the primary residence of the Ottoman sultans for approximately 400 years. As well as a royal residence, the palace was a setting for state occasions and royal entertainments. It is now a museum. The palace complex has hundreds of rooms and chambers, but only the most important are accessible to the public today. The palace includes many fine examples of Ottoman architecture. It contains large collections of porcelain, robes, weapons, shields, armor, Ottoman miniatures, Islamic calligraphic manuscripts and murals, as well as a display of Ottoman treasures and jewelry.
Grand Bazaar is one of the largest covered markets in the world with 4000 shops and 60 streets, which attracts between 300.000 and 500.000 visitors daily. Bazaar is well known for its painted ceramics, carpets, jewellery, spices, souvenirs and antique stores. It was constructed between 1455 and 1461 by the order of Mehmet the Conquerer II. You will have free shopping time there.
After the tour you will be transferred back to port/your hotel.
